Story

Yamato Naoe, a second year student from Kawakami Academy has friends that he really treasures. Four boys and three girls. They’ve known each other since childhood and have done a lot of funny things together. All the girls in the group know martial arts. A lot of things happened but they’re still friends until now. No one can break their strong friendship, they even have a secret base where they meet.

With the start of the new semester, they welcome two new members, and things are going for a turn.

Characters

Yamato Naoe

The protagonist of the game. A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy and the tactician of Kazama Family ( the name of their group ). He has a lot of acquaintances though the only people he consider as his friends are the ones who belong to their group. He owns two hermit crabs that he really treasure.

A very likeable protagonist. He doesn’t have any weakness at all aside from his hermit crabs. Very perverted.

Momoyo Kawakami

A 3rd year at Kawakami Academy. She’s considered as the strongest martial artist in the world, she’s also a part of Kazama Family. She treat Yamato as her little brother and make him do what she wants.

She’s not really my type but she has the body.

Kazuko Kawakami

A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy and classmate of Yamato. She’s the pet of the group, they call her “Wanko” which means “Puppy”. She’s good physically but she’s bad when it comes to studying. She uses a “Naginata” as her weapon.

Very cute indeed. She’s one of my favorites.

Miyako Shiina

A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy and classmate of Yamato. She’s head over heels over Yamato ever since they were young. She doesn’t talk very much unless it’s with Yamato. She flirts with Yamato all the time to show her love for him. She expertise on Archery.

My favorite heroine. I have nothing much to say.

Christiane Friedrich

She’s from Germany and she transferred to Kawakami Academy to know more about Japan, the country that she admires. Like Yamato and the others, she’s a 2nd year too and their classmate. She has a rivalry going on with Kazuko. Like the other girls, she’s also good at fighting. With her fencing skills she can match up with the other girls.

I love the way she acted her tsun tsun moments. Not really your typical tsundere character.

Yukie Mayuzumi

She’s the youngest member of Kazama family. A 1st year at Kawakami Academy and has a dream of making 100 friends. Her lack of social skills made her not being able to make any friends at all. But Shouichi finds her interesting so he let her join the group. She’s a very strong fighter, and Momoyo is very eager to have a match with her someday.

She’s cute from time to time.

Side Characters

This game really has a lot of characters. I’m positive, this game is nothing without the side characters. They surely have built a nice atmosphere within the game. I will only write the essential ones to avoid spoiler.

Shouchi Kazama

The leader of the Kazama family. The other members call him “Cap”. Unlike the other boys in the group, he doesn’t still have the libido so he’s not really perverted. Very enthusiastic and outgoing, he has proven Yamato and the others that he has the characteristics of a leader. A classmate of Yamato and the others as well.

One of my favorite characters in the game.

Gakuto Shimazu

A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy. He’s a self proclaimed nice guy, and loves older women. The comic relief character in the game. Despite having those muscles and well trained body, he’s not on par with Momoyo and the other girls.

He’s probably my favorite character in the game. Man, his comebacks never ceased to make me laugh.

Morooka Takuya

A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy and a classmate of Yamato. A very timid guy but he’s kind. Also, he’s an otaku.

I like him too. His tsukkomis are priceless.

Tadakatsu Minamoto

A 2nd year at Kawakami Academy and a classmate of Yamato and the others also. Like the other members of Kazama family, he resides in Shimazu dorm. He pretends to be cold to the people he talks to but actually he’s very kind. He had live in an orphanage along with Kazuko when they were young.

I love this guy. He’s so sweet lol.

I was planning to write all the characters but I suppose it’d spoil the game.

System

Didn’t expect that Giga system would fit into this game.

It definitely suits the game. It’s not glossy or what, it has that traditional look in it so it’s perfect.
It’s your typical config, so you can change things from here. Message speed, font color, sounds, etc…

And here’s your GIGA text box. Nothing much to say here, it’s near to perfection. By the way, this game has an auto save feature that really helps a lot.

Like any other games, you can replay scenes.

Music

I can’t probably think of a word for the BGMs. But if I have to say one it’s very “Buoyant”. Well, this game is all about having fun so it really suits the atmosphere.

Art

The artwork is new to me, but I can say that the artist is very constructive. The background really fits the emotion and mood of the characters. Also, the artwork is very straightforward which is a very good thing.

The characters’ eyes really intrigued me.

H-scenes

A grand total of 20 H-scenes. 1 to 3 scenes for the main heroines and 1 scene for the side heroines. The seiyuus did a splendid job on the h-scenes, it’s great and I can feel the emotions of the characters. Kudos for that. Minato Soft really went to the trouble of hiring big time seiyuus.

Last Words

If you’re looking for an eroge full of action and gags, Majikoi is definitely for you. Honestly, the one who wrote this probably has a very good sense of humor.

Story

The story begins with the protagonist, Kogasaka You, moving back to his hometown, which he left behind several years ago. Upon arriving, he stumbles into an abandoned, sealed observatory, whereupon he encounters a mysterious girl who looks exactly like his childhood friend did years ago. She introduces herself as Mare, a shinigami who reaps nightmares.

Meanwhile, back at school, You ends up joining the astronomy club, which is desperate need of new members. At night, he continues to visit Mare at the observatory, all the while trying to remember a certain someone’s name…

Characters

You Kogasaka

The protagonist of the story. After years of living in the city, he and his little sister Chinami return to Hibarigasaki because of their mother’s sudden death. He came back to his hometown with a resolve of fulfilling his promise with a girl he met in the past.

A very likeable protagonist if you were to ask me. He’s unexpectedly smart and can do things by himself. He makes fun of his sister often, and has a habit of sweet talking with the girls around him.

Mare S. Ephemeral

A mysterious girl who appeared at the lookout where You made a promise with a girl in the past. She calls herself a Shinigami ( god of death ) who reaps peoples nightmares. She resembles the girl which You made a promise with in the past, she’s your typical tsundere chara.

She’s cute though. Her bakabaka & damedame scenes were priceless.

Asuho Minahoshi

She’s one of You’s classmate in primary school, she really loves the stars and its constellations.  She has a rivalry with the student council chairman, Hisakaki Komomo.

Well, she’s likeable at least.

Komomo Hisakaki

She is the eldest of the Hisakaki twins. She’s the current chairman of the student council, and she hates the stars for an unknown reason. She has a rivalry with Tenkuru’s member, Minahoshi Asuho. She serves as a shrine maiden along with her sister Kosame.

She’s cute when being teased.

Kosame Hisakaki

She’s the youngest of the Hisakaki twins. A member of Tenkuru, and a classmate of You. Unlike her sister, she doesn’t seem to have any problems looking at the stars. She serves as a shrine maiden along with her sister Komomo.

One of my favorite characters in the game, her personality is a win.

Chinami Kogasaka

You’s little sister. She’s very energetic and always drives her brother mad. She’s bad at cooking to the point that she makes everything she cooks a charcoal. She really loves her brother.

What will happen to this eroge without Chinami?

Isuzu Aoi

Kogasaka family’s neighbor. She is Chinami’s classmate, and has a sharp tongue with her. She lives alone with her sister Suzuha.

I really didn’t pay any attention to her.

Yume Ototsu

She’s the girl whom You made a promise to in the past. She has an illness ever since she was young so she had to move in the city for an operation. But later on, she came back to Hibarigasaki because of the death of her grandmother and continues her hospitalization there. She’s really stubborn, she often escapes the hospital to have a walk outside.

She’s my favorite character. I didn’t expect her route to be a tear jerker with loads of dramas and such. I’m weak from girls with illness.

Side Characters

Setsuna Suwa

A 3rd year at Hibari Kou. She’s a good friend of Kosame. She serves as a shrine maiden Along with the Hisakaki twins. She’s a ghost member of Tenkuru.

She’s your typical cool character.

Shino Kogasaka

You and Chinami’s Aunt. She’s very kind and doesn’t get angry. She takes care of You and Chinami after their mother died.

Suzuha Aoi

Isuzu’s younger sister, She’s third grader in primary school. She’s often absent from school because of her illness.

Mayaka Hisakaki

Mother of Komomo and Kosame. She’s beautiful and a good mother to the twins.

Did I say she’s a former delinquent?

Haruto Oikazumi

A 3rd year at Hibari Kou. He’s the president of Tenkuru, the astronomy club You is in. Even though he looks unreliable they can count on him when the time counts. His catch phrase “SHIIIT!” is really funny.

Souichirou Minahoshi

Asuho’s father. He owns a maid cafe where Asuho serves as a maid.

Father who loves maid outfits. It’s a win.

Mirai Asuka

You’s classmate. He’s an occult maniac, and a good friend to You.

Ren & Taiga

Ren is the same as Mare. she reaps peoples nightmare. Ren and Taiga serve as a big part in the story.

The menu could have been great.

From here, you can change the settings of the game that suits your taste, What I love here is there’s a lot of choices for the font.

Well, it’s your typical menu. You can reminiscence some of the scenes from here.

I didn’t expect that blue green text box will suit the game.

After finishing the game, there’s a feature that will be unlocked called “Bust Shot mode” where you can have the sprites edited with different backgrounds and such, it’s really fun when you’re bored.

Music

There’a a lot of BGM indeed. All of them are soothing so I think there’s no problem with that. It really goes well when Chinami is on her Onii-chan mode.

Art

What really made Hoshira live up to its potential is its arwork. The characters were drawn really nice and the backgrounds are spectacular. The game uses FVP ( Favorite View Point ) where you can zoom up to 2x when viewing the CGs in CG mode.

Ei~ Ei~ Ei~

The SD CGs are very cute as well. Unfortunately, they are not available to be viewed on CG mode.

H Scenes

There’s a total of 13 H scenes throughout the game. 1 to 3 H scenes for every heroine. It’s not that I don’t find it hot but I think the voicing in the H scenes were not that great than as I imagined. Some parts were forced and I didn’t feel any emotions at all. Well, it’s not like they’re doing it for real so I do understand.

Last Words

Favorite manages to pull of the endings of Hoshizora ( some of them were short though ) so I will give them a big round of applause for that, while I’m not really a fan of slice of life genres, I think this is pretty well done. There’s one scene in the game that almost made me crying hard, I’m serious.

I think I’ll put Favorite on my list.

We haven’t made any realistic progress these past few months since our schedules been hectic and college life is putting up a pressure on me. Anyway, I’m back in action for now at least so expect some progress this month.

A grinning Homura to describe the feeling, Ixrec and his Amaterasu translations just gave the entire VNTL community a liter full of shock and amazement as he releases the patch of Muv-Luv Alternative and Shikkoku no Sharnoth.

Known for their works like Cross Channel and MOON. , The sudden release of the said patches raised quite a number of eyebrows in the translation community. With tensions rising, some even commented that the release single-handedly killed the industry and that it also killed the the last sparks of the Kimi ga Nozomu Eien translation.

But as for the others, they set aside all the drama, grab a copy of the game. Give a big thank you to the ones responsible and play or rather, read away.

I’ve been playing eroges for a long time now so I thought of writing a review, Tenshin Ranman is definitely one of the eroges that I was hooked into, it’s pretty well done for a slice of life genre, if I remember, there weren’t any scenes from the game that bored me out, leaving the explanation thingy aside. especially when Sana is present on the scene. I’ll tell you this but Sana is my self proclaimed IMOUTO

Somehow, I really find the OP awkward.

Story

You start off as Haruki, your typical unlucky protagonist. experiencing various mishaps everyday is a usual thing for him. the game starts off when Haruki and Sana are walking to school when a truck came rushing to them and nearly hit them.

The following scenes pretty much introduce all the major and minor characters in the game.

After school, when Haruki and Sana got home. a big cardboard box is delivered to their house that’s addressed to Haruki. Haruki opens it, when a girl suddenly breaks out of the box and proclaims herself as the goddess Unohana no Sakuya Hime. She explained the purpose why did she come into Haruki’s house and the fact that Haruki is cursed by the gods of misfortune and probably the reason why various mishaps are happening around him. though, the cursed can’t be removed, she can help lessen the effects brought by the curse by sucking it out of him with a kiss. (chu~ <3)

I can say the rest of the game concentrates on comedy and slice of life situations, there are some nice drops of drama as well which is a really good thing.

Characters

Haruki Chitose

Our unlucky protagonist, he already treat his misfortunes as a part of his daily life. A tsundere, and unbelievably good at fighting. he shows his soft personality from time to time, and deeply cares about his companions. You can rely on him when the time counts.

He’s a really likeable protagonist if you’re to ask me, I really like the way he always snaps off whenever Hime is making fun of him. he has done a very good job on Hime’s route so let me praise him for that.

Hime Unohana

The goddess in a box, she is sent to protect Haruki from his misfortunes. enjoys teasing Haruki to see his reactions. she knows when to pull off a joke and when to be serious. seems to be good at everything, what can you expect from a goddess? she’s also fond of reading mangas. due to that, she’s probably viewing the world with misconceptions. on a side note, beware of her Tezu– I mean, Hime Zone!

She is at least my 2nd favorite heroine in the game I really find her tempting whenever she’s teasing Haruki and the times she’s being jealous. while I’m not really crazy about her character, her voice is very alluring at some point.

Sana Chitose

Haruki’s imouto, kind to everyone, good at housework, whether it’s cooking or laundry, she can handle them all. definitely has a big brother complex, and always panicking whenever she says embarrassing things in front of her big brother. of course, imoutos should be scared of ghost stories so is she. really knows a lot of otaku memes, there’s a possibility that she’s a 2channer? there’s more than meets the eye.

[Why didn't you put me below Nii-san!!] I’m sorry Sana-chan please take note that this is reality and the main heroine should be first. being my favorite heroine and as a big fan of imoutos, I feel that Sana is customedly made for me, I don’t really have anything to add on any further. just let me say it one more time, SANA is my self-proclaimed imouto.

Aoi Yamabuki

Haruki’s childhood friend, and sister to Wataru. due to her looks and outgoing personality, she’s really popular at school. was confessed to a lot, but she turns them all down. she always put others first and is not really honest with herself. she doesn’t seem to worry about every minor things. often hands out charms to Haruki to protect him from his misfortunes.

Well, I know some of you like this kind of girls, but she’s not really my thing. I recently find her “what are you talking about?” scenes annoying. aside from that, I really love her in her maid outfit. if only they put in more moe elements to her *sigh*.

Rindou Ruri

She runs after Hime after she left. She’s a fox eared girl and can change his current form into a fox, really loves sweets. She’s convinced that Haruki is making fun of Hime which is actually the opposite, has a habit of smelling people who she has taken interest to and often bites Haruki.

I’m fond of lolis so this GREATO! Ruri’s so damn cute,  period.

Mahiro Tokiwa

One of the two sub heroines. she’s the student council president of Mizunagi Gakuen. excellent grades, good looks, kind to everyone, the students really admire her. she loves curry. oh, did I mention? she has big boobs.

Her route is ridiculously short that makes it so disappointing. I wish there were more of her.

Yukari Karasuba

One of the two sub heroines. Haruki’s homeroom teacher. she doesn’t want to get involved in troublesome things. even though she’s not good at smoking, she carries some for some reason. also, A BIG SADIST.

I do want a teacher like her. she’s really cute when being teased though.

Side Characters

Wataru Yamabuki

Aoi’s older sister who works at the coffee shop “Robin” run by Haruki’s grandfather. Yukari’s friend from her school days.

Iori Shinonome

The only megane chara. Haruki’s friend. a bit of an idiot, but he’s the school’s top grader.

Kotarou Asagi

Haruki’s childhood friend. he’s the heir of a Shinto Shrine.

Shinichirou Chitose

Haruki’s grandfather. owner of the coffee shop “Robin”. his looks can be misleading since he’s a bit of a pervert. his charming point is his long and pointy beard.

Honoka Tokusa

Haruki’s classmate. a bright and energetic fellow and considered as the class’ mood maker, and a member of Mizunagi Gakuen’s newspaper club.

Mikio Oitake

Head teacher of Mizunaki Gakuen. yeah, he’s strict. especially towards Haruki.

System

The game runs on widescreen like any other games being released recently. there’s nothing special at the menu. Sana’s an exception though. ( again with my favoritism )

What I loved here are the configs, I tend to change a lot of things in a game so this is really helpful. I didn’t notice I display Ruri there on purpose.

I really love the text box, it’s soothing and it really fits the game. The save/load buttons are too small though. I really love it when it’s large.

From here, you can view cgs and stuffs. BGM selection is also available at the right side that makes it more convenient. take note that this can only be viewed after finishing a route.

Music

The BGMs are quite a sound to listen to. Especially, Sana’s “with you” character song. I did find the other BGMs boring though. nonetheless, that depends on my mood.

Art

What I really love about the art is its simplicity. it’s nowhere near perfect but it’s awesome that I can’t put it into words. I really love the way how the eyes were drawn naturally, and the breathtaking backgrounds are one of the things that you can’t miss as well.

The SD cgs are quite amusing too.

H scenes

There’s a total of 23 H scenes. I think it’s more than plenty enough to fap to. The seiyuus did a good job acting out each characters. Don’t expect me to put a scene of Sana here >_<.

Last Words

All in all, it was quite a good read. if you’re looking for an eroge full of fun and bliss, Tenshin Ranman is an eroge to play. If you’re fond of imoutos, that’s a plus too.
